Aharon Barak, Professor of Law and former President of the Supreme Court of Israel

Aharon Barak is a Professor of Law at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya and a lecturer in law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Yale Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.  Barak was the President of the Supreme Court of Israel from 1995 to 2006.  Prior to that, he served as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Israel (1978-1995), as the Attorney General of Israel (1975-1978), and as the Dean of the Law Faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1974-1975).

David Gilo, director general of the Israel Antitrust Authority, is also a professor of law at the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Law. Formerly he was a member of the Israeli Antitrust Court. Gilo, who received his S.J.D. from Harvard Law School, has published over thirty articles in the fields of antitrust, regulation, industrial organization contracts, and torts. His work on passive investment among competitors, interconnection between telecom networks, excessive pricing by dominant firms, and consumer contracts has influenced academic scholarship, courts, regulators, and OECD discussions. In Israel, his academic work on agreements between suppliers and consumers strongly affected Israeli case law and regulation.
